At whatever phase of your business, you are in, you need to schedule time for rest and rejuvenation. Scheduling restorative breaks will allow you the clarity to thrive instead of burnout due to overload. Step away from your business so that you are able to craft new ideas and fine-tune the direction in which you are moving.
Taking time away from the beginning of the year is a great opportunity to assess your business and make the proper changes for future growth. It should be a time to reflect on your past year's accomplishments as well as your challenges. Scheduling downtime not only provides relaxation it can be a productive time to strategize your game plan for the upcoming year.
Plan—Do—Check—Act is an iterative four-step management method used in business for the control and continuous improvement of processes and products.
#1 Create a PLAN
The plan needs to be written down and the plan should establish objectives and the process required to deliver the desired results.
#2 DO what the plan says
#3 CHECK the Plan
Check and evaluate the process along the way and determine if there are any improvements that are needed.
#4. ACT
Adjust the plan where needed based on the checks that you've made regarding your process.
Whatever stage that you were in, you need a plan that is reviewed often. If you do not have a plan, you need to create one or find someone who is able to help you to create or adjust your process.
EDB Collective can help you design the plan.
The things that we keep in our heads and do not write down are the things that make us lose control over our business. Everything that is in your head needs to be written down and a system created around it, so you are not the bottleneck in your business. Without a clear repeatable process, you continue to spin your wheels and waste your time on items that should be delegated.
When you decide to make a change in your life or business, your past is going to come calling for you. Your old habits and bad behavior are most familiar to you and even though it may be dysfunctional and uncomfortable it is a habit in which you have formed a relationship.
It is important that you create new boundaries and new systems to break those bad habits. Your future is important so it is worth fighting feverishly for your new life.
In this season when you are trying to grow and you are creating and maximizing your time, seeking counsel, and seeking guidance is wise to do but you must remember that those whose counsel you seek do not have your vision. They may be able to advise you and provide sound advice, but you need to ensure that the council in which you seek understands your vision and is trying to guide you in the direction that you are trying to go as opposed to how they understand or how they want you to proceed. Don't lose yourself or your rhythm in the process as you stretch towards your goals.
